I Spy Castle marks the third and final I Spy title released for the Nintendo DS, launching on October 25, 2011. As the game’s director, I had the privilege of overseeing its development, ensuring it maintained the series’ signature hidden-object gameplay while incorporating new mechanics, such as a traditional inventory system that allowed players to collect and use items in new ways.
The design of the castle itself drew inspiration from the sandcastle featured in I Spy Fantasy, but was reimagined as a stone fortress, providing a rich and immersive environment for players to explore.
Released in celebration of the I Spy series’ 20th anniversary, I Spy Castle honoured the franchise’s legacy while introducing fresh gameplay elements to engage both new and returning players. Leading this project was a rewarding experience, and I’m proud of the creative and technical achievements our team delivered.
